Clay model of the earth by Joshua

A post shared by Jennifer Syblik (@cutecrazyorganizer) on

Hello, World wide web. This is the clay model of the Earth made by my twelve year old son. Let the reinventing begin.

The Question of What

Welcome to Reinventing you and Writing too! This is our first post together. I hope you are ready to reinvent yourself. If not, let me show why this moment in time is always prime for such a change.

  • What does invention mean?
  • What is meant by reinvention?

The word comes from the Latin word inventionem.  It’s invencioun in English and invencion in Old French.  It means “finding or discovering of something,”

Thanks Etmology.com!

Synonyms from these languages include:

  • Discover
  • Devise
  • Ascertain
  • Get
  • Earn

The prefix re-means:

  • to do it again
  • redo
lamp, light, lightbulb
This is the when an old idea meets a new medium. Bam! The light bulb redefines the word light post. That is exactly what you will do. Redefine yourself.

Redefining the Term

So, reinvention in the job or career world means becoming something new.  They mean going after a new career.  Maybe it’s changing to a new job or taking on a new title.

I see it differently. It is taking what you have and rearranging it. It is not something new. No, it is something renewed.

This site is about preparing you for this career renewal, rediscovery process.  Hang on!  It’s going to be a wild and bumpy ride.

“Every day, you reinvent yourself. You’re always in motion. But you decide every day: forward or backward.” —James Altucher

Thanks Lydia!
